The Beginning
It started with a handprint on a fridge.
Every parent knows the feeling. You look at a photo from a few months ago and barely recognise how small they were. The clothes stop fitting. The little sounds change. And the version of them you were holding last spring is quietly, permanently gone.
Little Beginnings began with that exact feeling — the wish that someone had stopped time for just one afternoon. Photos were everywhere, but there was nothing you could actually hold. Nothing that showed how small their hand really was.
The Idea
A memory you can hold, not just scroll past.
A clay impression does something a photograph can’t. It’s life-size. It’s real. You can run your thumb across the curve of a tiny heel and feel exactly how little they were, years after they’ve outgrown it.
So we set out to make that as easy as possible for tired parents: one kit, soft clay that captures fine detail, and a frame beautiful enough to earn a place on the wall — not a craft project waiting to be finished someday.
The Family Grew
Then came the paw prints.
We built it for babies. But the messages that came back kept mentioning someone else — the puppy who was somehow already full grown, the old dog whose paw a family wanted to keep close.
Pets are little beginnings too, and their time with us is even shorter. So the kit was made to work just as beautifully for a paw as it does for a hand, and it has been that way ever since.
